Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
GlobalRisk (“we”, “us”) at globalrisk.site is a monitoring service that aggregates publicly available information about conflicts, disasters, severe weather, aviation and other events. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Log and technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) and our servers automatically receive technical information with each request: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, requested page, referring page, and date and time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views, referrers, countries and device types. It is designed to be privacy-friendly and does not use cookies to track you across sites.
Performance measurement. We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load and respond on real devices (for example load time and layout stability), along with the page URL, device type, browser and approximate country. It does not use cookies and is used only to find and fix slow pages.
Information you provide. If you email us, we receive your email address and message. If you turn on optional push alerts, your browser gives us a push subscription (an endpoint address and encryption keys) and the alert preferences you chose, which we store only to send you the alerts you asked for. You can turn alerts off at any time in the dashboard, which deletes the subscription.
Local storage. The dashboard stores a few preferences, such as your translation setting, in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device.
2. Cookies and advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads served by Google AdSense on informational pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet.
These cookies and similar technologies may collect your IP address, device identifiers and information about the ads you view or interact with. We do not receive your personal profile from Google and we do not sell personal data.
Where required by law, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, ads are shown and ad cookies are set only after you give consent through a consent message, which you can change at any time.
3. Opting out of personalized advertising
- Turn off personalized ads for your Google account at adssettings.google.com.
- Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Opt out of many third-party ad vendors at aboutads.info/choices or, in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's privacy controls. Opting out does not remove ads; they will simply be less relevant.
4. Third-party services
To work, the dashboard loads content from third parties, who may receive your IP address and device information when your browser connects to them under their own privacy policies. These include map tile and imagery providers (Esri, NASA), weather layers (Windy), flag images, embedded video and camera streams (YouTube and public camera operators), Google News for headlines, and Google Translate if you use the translate option. Clicking a headline takes you to the publisher's site, which is governed by its own policy.
5. How we use information
We use information to operate and secure the service, understand how it is used, fix errors, send alerts you requested, respond to your messages, and support the site through advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Retention
Log and analytics data are kept only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting and aggregate statistics, and are generally retained by our providers for a limited period. Push subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or your browser invalidates them. Emails are kept as long as needed to respond.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. California residents may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; we do not sell personal information, and ad partners' sharing can be controlled with the opt-out links above. To make a request, email hello@globalrisk.site.
8. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Security and international transfers
We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Our providers may process data in countries other than your own.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
